Important information concerning the municipal tax installment of April 20,2020
Because of the present situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of New Richmond announced that no interest or penalties will be applied to late payments of municipal taxes beginning on March 23, 2020. This measure will be in application for an indefinite period of time and will give citizens and the business community flexibility in the management of their finances given the current circumstances .
Evidently the Town of New Richmond also has financial commitments to meet and it must continue to provide essential services to its citizens. This is why we are requesting that everyone who is able to respect the installment dates for municipal taxes to continue to do so.
As the Town Hall is currently closed to the public, it is possible to make your payments by sending a cheque in the mail or electronically via your financial institution using your numéro de matricule (roll number) as entered on your tax bill (F followed by 19 numbers).
If you have already sent post-dated cheques, they will be deposited until otherwise specified by you. Pre-authorized payments (direct withdrawals) will also be processed as usual unless we receive notice to the contrary from the taxpayer. To do to, you must contact us:
• By e-mail: email@example.com ;
• By telephone: 418-392-7000, extension 9-221 ;
• By mail: 99, Place Suzanne-Guité, New Richmond (Quebec) G0C 2B0
If you are registered for pre-authorized payments, the notice must be sent before April 10, 2020. After this date you will have the option of contacting your financial institution to request a stop payment order.
The Town of New Richmond would like to thank you for your precious collaboration.
