Arena of the Jean-Marie-Jobin Sports Complex – the Town wants to hear your opinions!

To do so, it has retained the services of the Centre d’initiation à la recherche et d’aide au développement durable (CIRADD) of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine, to pilot a study to identify the sports and recreation requirements of clients. This study will determine the demographical profile of the population, identity sports and recreation tendencies, as well as a status report for arenas in other regions.

The questionnaire may be completed online now by clicking on this link:

The questionnaire will also be distributed to all mail boxes in New Richmond, Gesgapegiag, Cascapedia-St-Jules, Caplan and Saint-Alphonse. Once completed, it can be deposited at one of several collection locations.

Parallel to this study, architects and engineers will soon begin the work necessary to accurately determine the costs associated with the renovation of the arena. The Town will have all the information necessary to adequately consult the population in the fall of 2018 so that we will be able to determine the future of this important facility together.

Citizen participation in this process is very important and the Town of New Richmond hopes to have a high rate of response in order to properly orient the necessary decisions.
